Our Services

Welfare rights
Government benefits are available to assist those on low income and people who need extra money because of their disability. However, a great many people do not claim the benefits to which they are entitled.

Helping vulnerable and isolated people to benefits is central to our mission. For lots of people benefits are the first step to getting the basic necessities of life – a warm and comfortable place to live, food, and health care. It is only when these things, which most of us take for granted, are in place that we can begin to help with the key ingredient of a happy and fulfilling life – contact with other people.

This service is available to people who live in inner London- that is one of the 12 boroughs Camden, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth, Westminster or the City of London.

The MSB welfare rights service gives priority to people who find it difficult or impossible to get advice through the usual channels. We focus our efforts on people:

  • who are isolated
  • who find it difficult to leave their home
  • who find communication difficult.

We do this by:

  • Providing information
  • Giving free advice
  • Helping people to complete application forms
  • Assisting with appeals
