Hospital Information and Liaison
The news that your sight is permanently damaged can be devastating. Once a doctor has made the diagnosis, most people feel distressed and uncertain about the future. Sound advice, emotional support and practical information are crucial ingredients to help anyone come to terms with their condition.

Working in close collaboration with doctors and eye specialists in four London hospitals we offer advice, information and support to people recently diagnosed with long-term visual impairment. This covers:

  • Understanding how your eye condition will affect your vision ‚ now and in the future
  • Making the best use of any sight you still have
  • Finding the right aids and equipment
  • Knowing what else you might need and who else can help
  • Thinking through how vision loss will affect daily routines ‚ and how you can adjust and compensate
  • Developing a positive approach to coping and living a full life.

We provide an information and advice service for patients using eye clinics in the following hospitals: St Thomasís Hospital, University College Hospital, The Royal London Hospital, King's College Hospital.
